Powers: Kevin has often considered his mutant gift a curse. With the uncontrollable power to decay all forms of organic material that comes in contact with his skin, Kevin has suffered greatly as a result, having both injured and taken the lives of the people he holds most dear. His ability, as it is progress, permits him decayed sight--the ability to see the decay in all things. While he has yet to harness his gift in such a way that his decaying touch is somatically controlled, his time with the X-Terminators and Selene has hardened him so that he uses his powers regularly and without remorse. The more he uses this gift, the more callous and heartless he becomes.

Personality: Kevin, originally a sweet boy with an honest drive to follow in the heroic footsteps of many X-Men who walked before him, grew gradually colder and harder as he learned to use and develop his powers. The growing body count left in his wake made it hard to reconcile his murderous gift with the humanitarian ideals of the X-men. He became haunted by the face of those who had died by his hand and at his side, and abandoned his hopes for super-heroism after watching his teacher and long-time crush, Aliosn Blaire, die in a battle with the X-Terminators.

His time with Selene, the Black Queen of Hellfire, hardened him further, his heart growing cold towards all that was vulnerable to his touch. Ego growing, Selene convinced him that he was an angel of death, gifted to the earth to reap what god had sown. His ban from the Hellfire Club sent him into a cold and quiet rage, silently vowing revenge against Hellfire's notorious Sebastian Shaw.

In Genosha, he found a middle ground--Magneto ushering him into a new phase of his life, teaching him to embrace his gifts but to use them with discretion and precise, calculated swiftness. Kevin often found himself carrying out the darkest of orders in secret even from Charles Xavier, who shared Magneto's soverignty. He because a killer with purpose, the arm of death instilling fear in he hearts of those who would oppose the power of Magneto.

His loyalty lies only with those who mentor him and it is fierce and fatal. He is ruthless in combat, having trained relentlessly in his slow but dedicated plan to overthrow the Black King and replace him, Selene by his side. He is reserved and quiet, most people avoiding him out of fear and respect, though with those who he is close to he speaks honestly and without restraint.

Backgrounder/History: Keivn was renowned at his high school in Georgia for his outstanding industrial artwork. He was recruited to Xavier's in NXM by Danielle Moonstar after his powers manifested, resulting in him accidentally killing his father. Alone and emo, Kevin wandered the junk yards of Georgia unintentionally killing attack dogs wrapped in naught but a plastic groundsheet. It was discovered that Kevin's mutant ability was the decay, and eventual disintegration, of all organic matter. How he eats, we do not know. Relegated to a life of industrial-chic interior design, tacky polyester clothing, and the occasional mishap where he decays the flesh of the one he loves, Kevin makes do with the small things: black clothing, metal shop, and his talent for redefining the term emo.

XMH Backstory: Arriving at Xavier's at the age of 17, Kevin Ford found himself living a cruel juxtaposition as Josh Foley's--the omega level healer, Elixir--new roommate. Making friends with surprising ease, Kevin, an avid drummer, found himself studying music under Alison Blaire (alias: Dazzler), and occasionally playing in a band with her and Jonothan Starsmore (alias: Chamber.) He developed an infatuation with Alison, and a friendship with several other students at Xavier's including Julian Keller (alias: Hellion) who became like a brother to him over the years.

Five Yer Gap Summary: As he finished his studies at Xavier's, Kevin jumped at the chance to join a real X-team when Alison and Julian approached him with an invitation to the X-Terminators team but after the untimely death of the Dazzler during a mission that went horribly awry, Kevin lot his faith in the X-franchise, and left Westchester in search of something better.

Squatting for a period in lower Manhattan, Kevin was almost cowed enough to return to the X-Men when he encountered a woman by the name of Selene. The Hellfire Club's Black Queen took Kevin under her wing, sensing a kindred spirit in him as another bringer of death, taker of life. She taught him to embrace his reaping gifts, and attempted to bring him into the fold of Hellfire's Inner Circle. The Black King--none other than Hellfire's longest running and most ruthless member of the Inner Circle--Sebastian Shaw, had other plans, however.

Displeased with the prospect of competition and the amorous attention Selene showed so obviously for the young man, Sebastian Shaw forbade Kevin from ever becoming a Hellfire member. The bellowing command that echoed through the halls of the Hellfire Club's estate as challenge to Wither that he has never forgotten: "Never, while I live, will this child be a part of Hellfire."

After this expulsion, Kevin found his way to Genosha, finding a place on the Genoshan Guard he found himself conforming to the brutal but idealistic methods of Genosha's soverign, Magneto. When the final sentinel assault on the province occured, Kevin was there and, using his skills with industrial grade metals, he played an active role in the assembly of the Exodus Machine--fabricating larger pieces of the long range teleporter while Forge, the maker, seemed to design the intricate circuitry with barely a thought--and is credited as a hero for his contributions to the evacuation of the province.
